Head-coverings were a critical component of dress in the Middle Ages. Hats were common with men and women of all classes, and came in a wide variety of forms, and made of a wide variety of materials. Men wore their hats alone or over a hood<\/a> or coif<\/a>, while women seem to have worn theirs either alone, over a simple veil<\/a>, or a full veil<\/a> and wimple<\/a>. Our decorative fillet is open topped and best secured to head when worn with a Barbette<\/a> or Wimple<\/a> using Veil Pins<\/a>. Our women\u2019s decorative fillet can be dated as early as the mid-13th century Macjieowski Bible and was used throughout the 14th century and are made in 100% linen colors to coordinate with our other medieval styles.<\/p>
